So, what has inspired me to start a website about reputable survey companies that entitle you to receive cash and win prizes if you participate in their research efforts? Well, recently, as I was in debt and looking for a fun, cheap, and safe way of making a little money on the side, I started to explore this option. Yes, my purpose as an author is to help people develop a wise and noble spirit, but I also recognize that we are material beings in a material world. They are real, no doubt, and this profitable opportunity is a fact. But, let's take a reality check. Your success will depend on many factors, among them luck, especially as regards winning prizes. Also, the greater the number of survey companies you will register with, and this process is always free of charge, the greater your chances of being invited to a survey or a focus group. (Note that participating in a focus group usually takes about an hour or two and may earn you a $150 reward. Not bad, hey, for just voicing your opinion?) Finally, your profile will determine your suitability as a participant for whichever survey or focus group is available at any given time. So I can make no promises. All I can say is that many people have testified to the possibility of rounding off their income with some much appreciated extra cash by answering survey questions and participating in focus groups. It has taken me a couple of weeks to compile and test, link by link, the list of reputable survey companies that I offer on this site. It is every bit as extensive as those found in the two most recommended survey sites on the Internet; i.e., Survey Scout – which is my favorite – and Paid Surveys Online (I make this statement knowledgeably as I have purchased their memberships and inspected their lists very closely). But it is much less expensive: $12 instead of $34 and change. Furthermore, I contend that my list is cleaner, free of dead links and useless redundancy. These dead links and this useless redundancy can make a list look larger than it really is, but ultimately they lead to a waste of time. In fairness, however, to these two companies (especially Survey Scout), they offer a superior expertise that is part of their excellent customer service. You, of course, pay for this superior expertise and excellent customer service. Having said this, I sincerely believe that the core value of their membership is their list of reputable survey companies, whereas the rest is a dispensable luxury. The main thing you need to know is what I have summarized in the second paragraph (the reality check). One advantage that makes my list unique is that I sell it as a fully editable and clickable Word file that you can access directly from Word, as opposed to having to log in an Internet account every time you want to access the list. When you click on one of the links, you are taken automatically to your browser where the appropriate window opens, and you can carry through the registration process (which, I insist, is always free of charge). What is more, in my list, companies are plainly and neatly categorized depending on whether their survey panels are broad-based or restricted to the residents of specific countries like the US or the UK. One final word about privacy. I know that people are often hesitant about giving personal data over the Internet, for fear of being spammed left, right, and center by all manner of websites that share information. Yet, rest assured that the companies that I list are said to be reputable precisely because they respect your privacy and do not share your personal data with others. I personally have registered with nearly 200 of these companies and haven't noticed a marked increase in junk mail, besides a few expected offers that are part and parcel of certain registrations.
